About Maleny Cheese Cafe
Maleny Cheese Café is a destination show cheese factory celebrating the flavours of the Sunshine Coast Hinterland, Queensland. Using fresh milk from local dairy farms, cheeses and yoghurts are handcrafted select on site. On the scenic route through Maleny, the show-cheesery, café and shop invite discovery of what sustainable local food looks and tastes like. Enjoy signature cheese boards, cakes, barista coffee and tea, alongside local beers, wines and regional produce. On weekdays, watch the cheese and yoghurt makers at work through panoramic viewing windows, and explore the iconic Giant Milk Can, Cheese Wedge and Cow Couch. The story begins in Switzerland. The co-owners bring their Swiss heritage and deep respect for traditional dairy craft to everything made. Recipes and equipment were sourced directly from Switzerland, and are still used today. The result includes the Australian Grand Dairy Award Champion Flavoured Yoghurt, a true taste of Swiss tradition made right here in the Hinterland. The milk travels only a short distance from local farms in a dedicated milk tanker, meaning very few food kilometres, exceptionally fresh ingredients and a direct connection to the farming families behind every product. The factory is partly solar powered, and water is collected and reused on site. Community and care for the land are part of the recipe.
