Gladstone Area Water Board contracts listed again in later files counted once

Gladstone Area Water Board lists some contracts again in later disclosure files, under another supplier spelling or with a purchase number added to the reference: the Fitzroy to Gladstone Pipeline design and construct contract is CON001160 PU027060 in the 2022/23 file and CON001160 in later files. The collapse rules did not pair these copies, because the supplier is spelled differently or the reference carries an extra number, and the values differ, so each copy counted. From today, the board's contracts are matched the way Transport and Main Roads' and the Department of Education's are, on reference and award date whatever the supplier spelling, with the reference read by its first word: when they appear in more than one file, only the file holding the highest value counts. Where one file names more than one supplier under a reference and date (8 of 2,385), the reference is left alone. 54 copies stop counting ($1,718.1M). The largest was CON001160, with B.M.D Constructions and McConnell Dowell, which counted three times ($2,613.2M): its 2022/23 copy ($786.3M) and its 2026/27 copy ($911.4M) no longer count, and it counts once, at $915.5M in the 2025/26 file. The post-2021 record moves from 505,684 contracts ($189.01B) to 505,630 ($187.29B). Contractor pages update with the next daily build. Every disclosed row is still held. Transport and Main Roads contracts listed again under another kind of reference counted once

Transport and Main Roads' 2020-21 disclosure file lists contracts under references such as 44050-1312205, where its later files use the contract number, such as CN-8801. The collapse rules pair copies of a contract by reference, or by identical value, so when a later file listed the same contract at a new value, both copies counted. From today, when a Transport and Main Roads row with a reference in the 2020-21 format and one other counted row, in another file, have the same supplier, award date and start of description, they count once, at the higher value. Where three or more rows match, or both rows are in the same file, they are left alone, so Transport and Main Roads' totals remain upper bounds. 346 copies stop counting ($2,364.1M). The largest was CN-8801, the Cooroy to Curra Section D construction contract with Bielby BMD Joint Venture: its 2020-21 copy, 44050-1312205 at $451.4M, no longer counts, and the contract counts once, at $647.3M in the 2024-25 file. The next was CN-12418, the M1 Pacific Motorway Upgrade, Palm Beach to Tugun, with Seymour Whyte Constructions: its 2022-23 copy, 44092-1388597 at $365.8M, no longer counts, and the contract counts once, at $695.4M in the 2025-26 file. The post-2021 record moves from 506,030 contracts ($191.37B) to 505,684 ($189.01B), and Transport and Main Roads from 19,027 contracts ($68.6B) to 18,681 ($66.2B). Homepage figures stopped refreshing for a day and a half

The homepage reads its figures from the record every hour. The 9 October change made that hourly read too complex for the database to run, so every refresh failed from 10:12pm on 9 October. Until 11 October, the homepage showed the figures read at 9:15pm on 9 October. That included 507,793 contracts disclosed since 2021, while the record held 506,030. The read now uses each part of the record once, and the homepage refreshes hourly again. Found in an internal check on 10 October.

Undated copies of contracts in other files no longer counted

Some disclosure files list a contract without its award date, while another file lists the same contract with a date (same agency, reference and supplier). The collapse rule matched contracts on their award date, so the undated copy counted as a separate contract. Transport and Main Roads' 2022-23 file lists many contracts this way. The Department of Education's 2024/25 file lists purchase orders without dates. From 9 October, an undated copy is matched to the dated copies of its contract when those copies carry a single award date. Only the highest-value copy counts. Where the dated copies carry more than one date, the undated copy is left alone. The largest undated copy was CN-8801, Bielby BMD Joint Venture, at $542.9M in the 2022-23 file. The 2024-25 file lists the same contract with a date at $647.3M, and the undated copy no longer counts. The post-2021 record moves from 507,793 contracts ($195.95B) to 506,030 ($191.37B). Transport and Main Roads moves from 19,484 ($72.1B) to 19,027 ($68.6B), and the Department of Education from 81,750 ($18.5B) to 80,466 ($17.5B). Every disclosed row is still held. Contracts listed in two disclosure files counted once, and contractor totals corrected

Some contracts are listed in two disclosure files with the same agency, supplier, award date and value but without a matching contract reference, so the collapse rules did not pair them and both copies counted. Most are Queensland Health's: its 2023-24 contract disclosure report and Health Capital Division's report list the same 659 contracts ($1,260.3M). From today, such a contract counts once. 1,086 copies stop counting ($1,696.5M), 780 of them Queensland Health's ($1,645.6M). The post-2021 record moves from 508,245 contracts ($197.07B) to 507,159 ($195.37B), and the Queensland Health page from 18,962 contracts ($25.2B) to 18,182 ($23.6B). Contractor totals, which also add the pre-2021 file, stop counting two more kinds of copy: 253 pre-2021 contracts that newer files list again without a date, under another spelling of the same business ($299.6M), and 16 pre-2021 contracts of $1M or more that a newer file lists again at a slightly different value ($527.4M). BESIX Watpac's total moves from $1,604.0M (100 contracts) to $1,015.8M (93): the North Queensland Stadium managing contractor ($310.9M) and a $26.0M construction contract were each counted twice, a Department of Education construction contract three times ($89.9M, $89.9M and $86.5M), and three hospital expansion contracts ($71.5M) appear in both Health files. Every disclosed row is still held, and contractor totals from before the change are kept as a snapshot.

Shadow Pipeline: Games authority contracts read from GIICA's files as loaded

The Games authority box on the Shadow Pipeline page counted a copy of GIICA's disclosure files taken on 22 Sep, so GIICA's FY26 to FY27 file, loaded between 30 Sep and 2 Oct, did not reach it. It now reads every GIICA disclosure file as loaded: 267 contracts worth $263.4M at award, with awards up to 10 Aug 2026, where it showed 252 contracts worth $218.7M up to 26 Jun 2026. A contract GIICA lists more than once under one reference shows each time it is listed. ARM Joint Venture's architectural services line ($27.5M, awarded 22 Jul 2026) is linked to the National Aquatic Centre, with the basis shown beside it.

Transport and Main Roads and Education contracts listed again under another supplier spelling counted once

Transport and Main Roads and the Department of Education sometimes list the same contract in more than one disclosure file with the supplier spelled differently, such as TIG in one year and The Infrastructure Group - TIG the next, or F K GARDNER & SONS PTY LTD and F.K. GARDNER & SONS PTY. LTD. The collapse rule matched contracts on the supplier name as written, so both copies counted. From today, for these two agencies, when another file holds the same contract reference and award date under a different supplier spelling, only the file with the highest value counts. Inside a single file, only 35 of 17,718 Transport and Main Roads references and 5 of 72,774 Education references name more than one supplier; those are panel contracts and are left alone. 1,339 copies stop counting ($1,364.3M): 1,259 in Department of Education files ($705.7M) and 80 in Transport and Main Roads files ($658.6M). The largest was CN-2908, listed as TIG at $295.43M in the 2020-21 file and at $336.53M in 2021-22; it now counts once, at $336.53M. The post-2021 record moves from 506,280 contracts ($197.11B) to 504,941 ($195.74B), Transport and Main Roads from 19,288 contracts ($72.4B) to 19,208 ($71.7B), and the Department of Education from 83,068 ($19.2B) to 81,809 ($18.5B). Contracts listed again in another file, without a date or with a different date, counted once

Some agencies list the same contract in more than one disclosure file: once without an award date, or with a different date, such as the day and month swapped, or a date years after the one in the earlier file. The collapse rule matched contracts on their award date, so both copies counted. From today, when two files hold a contract with the same agency, reference, supplier and value, the copy in the other file stops counting. A dated copy is kept over an undated one, and the earliest date over a later one. 756 copies stop counting ($2.72B). 661 are in Department of Education files: 530 purchase orders the 2024-25 file lists without dates, 129 older purchase orders the 2025-26 file lists again with later dates, and 2 others. Copies dated about a year apart still count, because they may be renewals. The post-2021 record moves from 506,994 contracts ($199.80B) to 506,238 ($197.08B), and the Department of Education from 83,729 contracts ($21.4B) to 83,068 ($19.2B). The Sport, Racing, Olympic and Paralympic Games page moves from 272 contracts to 270. Every disclosed row is still held.

Transport and Main Roads rows without an agency, and an empty Sport and Olympics page

Transport and Main Roads' 2025-26 disclosure file left the agency blank on 501 rows. Those rows sat outside TMR's total, and 188 of them repeated TMR contracts already on record, so those contracts counted twice. They now belong to TMR, and each repeat counts once: TMR's post-2021 total moves from 18,986 contracts ($71.8B) to 19,294 ($72.4B). The Sport, Racing, Olympic and Paralympic Games page showed no contracts, because it looked for the department's short name while its disclosures carry the full name. It now shows 272 contracts worth $128.5M, including 132 rows from a file that left the agency blank. Queensland Rail and the Department of Education, like TMR, list a contract again at its new running total within the same file; those 783 repeat rows ($402.4M) now count once. The post-2021 record moves from 508,057 contracts ($201.67B) to 506,994 ($199.80B). Every disclosed row is still held.

Logan building and plumbing permits no longer counted as applications

Since 15 April, Logan City Council's feed has included building and plumbing permits alongside development applications, and all 8,736 of them were counted as applications. From today they are left out of every application count, map and feed. The headline applications total moves from 29,027 to 20,291. Every permit is still held in the raw record.

Transport and Main Roads contracts re-listed in the same file counted once

Transport and Main Roads lists a contract again at its new running total each time it is varied, and when that happens more than once in a year, the same contract appears several times in that year's disclosure file. The collapse rule already counted a contract once across files, but every copy inside one file still counted. From today, a Transport and Main Roads contract listed more than once in the same file at different values counts once, at its highest value. 2,153 rows across 1,733 contracts stop counting. Transport and Main Roads' post-2021 total moves from $86.5B to $71.8B, and the post-2021 record from 510,192 contracts ($216.43B) to 508,039 ($201.67B). The largest was the Rail Transport Service Contract with Queensland Rail, listed in the 2020-21 file at $10,240.8M and again at $10,446.2M; it now counts once, at $10,446.2M. Same-file repeats from other agencies still all count, because in some agencies' files they are separate engagements under one reference, so totals remain upper bounds. Contractor totals: names counted twice, and a currency code as a supplier

Contractor totals combine supplier names that belong to the same business. Three names had two entries in that mapping, so every contract under them counted twice: J. Hutchinson Pty. Ltd. (268 contracts, $1,922.0M, in Hutchinson Builders), John Holland Queensland Pty Ltd (19 contracts, $1,016.6M, in John Holland) and Downer EDI Works Pty Ltd (67 contracts, $212.0M, in both Downer and Downer EDI Rail Pty Ltd). Each now counts once. Downer EDI Works and Downer EDI Engineering Pty Limited (430 contracts, $117.9M) now sit under Downer ($440.3M), so Downer EDI Rail Pty Ltd's total is only what was disclosed under that name: one contract, the Queensland Train Manufacturing Program, at $4,076.4M, rather than the $4,406.4M given in the 24 Sep entry. On today's figures Hutchinson Builders moves from $7,586.0M to $4,850.5M, which includes the Education correction below, and John Holland from $5,292.8M to $4,276.2M. Separately, 381 Queensland Contracts Directory rows carry the currency code AUD in the supplier column; they no longer form a contractor total of $190.7M. Undated copies of dated contracts counted once

Some disclosure files list the same contract twice, once with an award date and once without, and both copies were being counted. From today, an undated row no longer counts when the same file holds a dated row with the same agency, reference and supplier, within $1 of its value. 39 rows stop counting; the post-2021 contract count moves from 510,231 to 510,192, and counted value from $238.37B to $216.43B. Most of the change is two undated copies of the Rail Transport Service Contract with Queensland Rail in Transport and Main Roads' 2020-21 file ($20.69B). 32 more are in the file titled Contract Disclosure 2026-27, among them a $968.0M prisoner telephone system contract with Comsec TR Pty Ltd, whose contractor total moves from $2,034.3M to $1,066.3M with the next daily build. Agency pages now describe this counting method, and leave awards dated after today out of their most-recent lists. Every disclosed row is still held.

Education year-to-date file counted once

The Department of Education's 2025/26 Q2 disclosure file republishes its Q1 file. Yesterday's fix caught the repeats that matched exactly; 1,032 more carried a changed award date or supplier spelling. From today, Q1 rows whose contract reference appears in Q2 no longer count. Education's 2025/26 disclosures now total $5,710.5M rather than $7,397.9M, and the post-2021 contract count moves from 511,263 to 510,231. Every disclosed row is still held.

Contract totals count each contract once

Some agencies re-list a contract each time it is varied, at its new running total, and the Department of Education's latest file republishes the year to date. Those re-listings were being added together as separate contracts. From today, a contract that appears in more than one disclosure file (same agency, reference, supplier and award date) counts once, at its highest disclosed value. 21,527 rows worth $86.0B no longer count toward totals, and the post-2021 contract count moves from 532,642 to 511,115. The largest single case is the Queensland Train Manufacturing Program contract (Transport and Main Roads, awarded 29 June 2023). It was listed four times and now counts once, at $4,076.4M. Downer EDI Rail Pty Ltd's all-time total moves from $16,588.7M to $4,406.4M. Every disclosed row is still held. Rows without a contract reference or award date, and contracts before 2021, can't be checked this way, so treat those totals as upper bounds. The gold, silver and bronze tier labels have been removed from contractor pages, which now state how their totals are counted. Found in an internal review of the contract data, corrected same day.

Privacy policy corrected

The policy stated the site ran no analytics and set no cookies. Google Analytics 4 has been live on every page. The policy now discloses GA4 and Cloudflare processing, the false claims are removed, and the listed data sources now include Overture Maps and ATDW alongside QBCC, WorkSafe Queensland and SOR. Found in an internal audit of published claims, corrected same day.

Duplicate source rows removed

A load-level audit found 5,223 rows (1.1%) duplicated at ingestion in the primary disclosure corpus, and 33 in the historical corpus. Aggregate contractor totals moved $324.5B → $323.2B (−0.4%). Deduplication is now structural in the serving views, so re-loaded source files can no longer double-count. Found internally, corrected same day.

Contractor lifetime totals corrected

From 15 April the badge aggregation unioned a source table later measured as 99.9% duplicated within the primary corpus. The serving table carried the inflation and was rebuilt daily by an otherwise healthy pipeline. Corrected 8 August: aggregate $345.9B → $324.5B (−6.2%); individual supplier totals moved by up to $1.79B; supplier count 114,589 → 114,507. Found in an internal supplier-resolution audit, corrected same day, pre-correction snapshot retained.
